How is the IFP organized?

The structure of the IFP is stipulated in the statutes. The following areas are differentiated:

  • The Members Assembly represents the highest authority of the IFP and convenes at the time of the International Congress of Psychotherapy.
  • The Chapters are regional groupings of IFP member organizations representing certain geographically and/or culturally similar areas.
  • The Council is composed of delegates of member organizations representing different regions, cultures, countries, and minority groups. It will discuss all matters and advise the Board and is responsible for the strategic development of the IFP.
  • The Board is the executive organ and conducts all affairs of the IFP. It consists of the President, the past President, and the President-Elect, the Secretary General, and the Treasurer.
