All psychotherapy societies may acquire membership. Precondition is that the training carried out by the society is generally and officially accepted in that country.
To acquire individual membership, a formal application must be sent to the office of the IFP using the IFP application form. Applications should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and, wherever possible, the name of one supporter who is a member of the IFP (which should be send by email to [email protected]).

IFP membership societies enjoy the following membership benefits:
Membership societies receive two issues per year of the IFP Newsletter. They are also invited to use the IFP Newsletter as a platform to publish information (scientific material, conferences, etc.) that may be of interest to the IFP membership.
The Presidents of membership societies receive a subscription to the IFP’s official scientific journal, “Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics”, free of charge.
Membership societies (and all their individual members) are entitled to subscribe to IFP’s official scientific journal, “Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics”, at a special, substantially reduced rate.
Membership societies (and all their individual members) enjoy reduced registration rates at the IFP World Congresses, IFP-sponsored regional seminars, workshops and masterclasses, and a number of IFP-co-sponsored conferences.
Membership societies have the right to vote at the IFP General Assemblies which usually take place during the IFP World Congresses.
